We would like to recruit a support staff member to assist our Veterinary Nursing Team, with a view to commencing Veterinary Nurse training in the near future.

Job Description

Candidates will be expected to assist our nursing and reception team in a variety of tasks:

*Welcoming clients;
*Answering the phones, dealing with client queries and making appointments;
*Assisting in dispensary;
*Cleaning both clinical and non clinical areas, including patient accommodation;
*Cleaning and sterilisation of surgical equipment;
*Laundry of bedding and theatre drapes;
*Supporting and restraining animals for procedures;
*Care of inpatients to include following instructions for exercise and feeding;
*Record keeping.

We would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

Experience in animal handling and customer service would be preferable, but training in specific tasks will be provided.

Successful candidates will hold the necessary qualifications to meet the entry requirements to enrol on the Veterinary Nursing Level 3 Diploma course (5 GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 including Maths, English Language, and Science).

Hours would be 20-40 hours per week. Having embarked on to Veterinary Nurse training it would be expected for the candidate to work 40 hours per week and participate in the out of hours and weekend rota.  The nurse training will be at Myerscough, and will be in the format of an apprenticeship.
